Meet the members of Radius Bank’s Senior Management Team.

Michael Butler
Michael A. Butler, President & Chief Executive Officer

Since joining Radius Bank in March 2008, Mr. Butler has transformed the Bank into an innovative leader in the financial services industry, one focused on delivering superior customer service and leading-edge technology to its clients. He is an experienced banking executive with an extensive background in all facets of commercial and consumer banking. Prior to joining the Bank, Mike served as President, National Consumer Finance at KeyCorp in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a graduate of Providence College and the ABA's Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Mike serves as a member of the Financial Services Committee for the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of Trustees for Thompson Island Outward Bound, on the Advisory Board for FinXTech, and has been active with the Habitat for Humanity program. He was recently recognized as an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® New England 2016 Finalist.

Chip Clarke
Chip Clarke, Executive Vice President | Chief Data Officer

Dr. Clarke is responsible for overseeing the bank’s technology roadmap, including development of core infrastructure to support originations and account management. In addition, he leads efforts to acquire data, develop analytics and models to empirically drive decisions across all functional areas including fraud, credit and marketing. Chip has more than 26 years in financial services. He joins Radius Bank from Keycorp, where he held a variety of statistical modeling and risk management roles. Chip holds an undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University and a PhD in Behavioral Statistics from Baylor University.

Diane Gallion
Diane Gallion, Executive Vice President | Head of Government Guaranteed Lending

Ms. Gallion is responsible for managing the Bank’s national Government Guaranteed Lending (GGL) program and is based out of the Bank’s Chicago office. Prior to joining Radius Bank in April 2016, she most recently served as Senior Vice President / National GGL director at The Bancorp Bank. Diane has over 40 years of experience in the national bank lending industry and also held roles at Banco Popular and Bank of America. Ms. Gallion holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

David J. Granese

Mr. Granese is responsible for managing the Bank’s Union Organization, Non Profit and Government sales division. Dave has over 29 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joins the Bank from State Street, where he spent more than 20 years in leadership roles within treasury, relationship management and product strategy. Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts.

Doreen Heath
Doreen D. Heath, Senior Vice President | Chief Administrative Officer

Ms. Heath is responsible for all human resources activities. Prior to joining Radius Bank in 1990, she spent 14 years in various positions at US Trust Company. Doreen is Chair of the Advisory Board at South Boston Boys & Girls Club. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and holds her SPHR certification. She is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin, the National Compliance School at the University of Oklahoma, and the Bank Management Program at Duke University.

James Malerba
James Malerba, Executive Vice President | Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Malerba is responsible for managing all financial and residential portfolio operations for the Bank. A seasoned banking professional, Jim joined Radius Bank in 2014 and has over 38 years of experience in financial services and public accounting roles. He previously served as Executive Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller at State Street Corporation. Jim has also held roles at FleetBoston Financial in Providence, RI and KeyBank/KeyCorp in Cleveland, OH. A resident of Medfield, MA, Mr. Malerba holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Computer Science from Boston College. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center in Boston, MA and the LaSalle School for Boys in Albany, NY.

Stephen J. O'Leary, Executive Vice President | Radius Equipment Finance

Mr. O’Leary is responsible for managing the Bank’s national Radius Equipment Finance program. Stephen brings more than 25 years of experience in the origination, syndication, underwriting, management and workout of portfolios of asset backed leases and loans. Most recently, he served as a Managing Director of New Star Financial and Head of its Equipment Finance and Leasing Division. He has also held positions at Eastern Bank, the Capital Market Groups of AT&T Capital and Fleet Capital Leasing. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from American International College.

Philip Peters
Philip Peters, Executive Vice President | Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Peters is responsible for managing deposit and loan operations, commercial cash management, internal technology, project management, and product management/development. Phil has over 33 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Radius in April 2016, he most recently served as Senior Vice President, Product Management & Development at People’s United Bank. Phil has also held roles at Danversbank, Citizens Bank, and Bank of America. Mr. Peters holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Salem State University and a Graduate Certificate of Specialized Studies in Business Administration & Management from Harvard University Extension.

Shepard Rainie
Shepard D. Rainie, Executive Vice President | Chief Risk Officer

Mr. Rainie is responsible for managing the Bank's enterprise risk, credit underwriting and administration, vendor management, information security and compliance functions. Shep has over 38 years of banking experience, coming to Radius Bank in June 2010 from Berkshire Bank, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President / Chief Risk Officer. Mr. Rainie also held numerous positions with Bank of America and its predecessor banks, including Senior Vice President / Credit Review and Managing Director / Strategic Risk Assessment. Mr. Rainie received his AB from Harvard College and an MBA from Boston College.

Chris Tremont
Christopher C. Tremont, Executive Vice President | Virtual Banking

Mr. Tremont is responsible for managing the Virtual Bank, Radius’ approach to retail banking that combines innovative products, leading-edge technology, strategic partnerships with FinTechs and superior customer service delivered through our Call Center and Financial Center teams. He also oversees the Bank’s marketing and public relations department. Chris has over 11 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Radius Bank in December 2008, he held various roles within KeyBank’s Consumer Finance division. Chris was recognized by Bank Innovation as a "2016 Innovator to Watch" and an "Innovation All-Star: Rising Star" in 2012 by the Boston Business Journal. Chris earned his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
